Origin and background of the character
Dwight Schrute is one of the central and most memorable characters in the American comedy television series *The Office*, adapted by Greg Daniels and broadcast between 2005 and 2013. Played on screen by Rainn Wilson, Dwight works as a senior sales representative at the Dunder Mifflin branch in Scranton, whilst also running his own beetroot farm. Instantly recognisable thanks to his mustard-coloured shirts, oversized glasses and regulation centre parting, he stands out for his blind obedience to his manager Michael Scott, his disproportionate sense of authority and his constant paranoia. This classic version of the character showcases his iconic office look, perfectly capturing the unshakeable seriousness and quirkiness of this model employee, much loved by fans.
