Origin and character background (Lore)
Created by legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto in 1981, Mario first appeared as ‘Jumpman’ in the arcade game Donkey Kong before becoming the official, global mascot of the Japanese company Nintendo. An Italian-American plumber dressed in his famous blue overalls, red T-shirt and matching cap bearing the letter ‘M’, he spends most of his time travelling the Mushroom Kingdom to thwart the nefarious schemes of the infamous Bowser and rescue Princess Peach. Recognisable by his unwavering optimism and his famous cry of ‘It’s-a me, Mario! ’, this universal hero has spanned generations through hundreds of groundbreaking titles. This bottle celebrates the boundless energy of a character who continues to make players all over the world run, jump and dream.
