Origin and character’s universe
Created by Disney Animation Studios in 2002, the film Lilo & Stitch recounts the adventures of Experiment 626, an alien creature genetically programmed to destroy major intergalactic cities. After accidentally crash-landing on the tropical archipelago of Hawaii, this tiny yet super-powerful monster is adopted by an orphaned girl, Lilo, who decides to name him Stitch. Through his exposure to the local culture and the laid-back island lifestyle, the mischievous alien softens and discovers the priceless value of family through the concept of ‘Ohana’, which holds that no one should be left behind or forgotten. With his mischievous blue koala-like appearance and big heart, Stitch has become one of the most popular mascots in cinema history. This eco-friendly solar lantern by Paladone perfectly captures the sunny, summery and warm spirit associated with the franchise’s universe.
