Origin and character background
In the horror masterpiece Silent Hill 3, released in 2003, Heather Mason is a seemingly ordinary teenager who finds herself suddenly plunged into a waking nightmare. Drawn into the mist-shrouded, cursed town of Silent Hill, she discovers that she is intimately linked to the history of the sinister local cult and that she is, in fact, the reincarnation of Alessa Gillespie. Armed with her courage and a torch, she must face grotesque monsters from the darkest corners of the human psyche to shed light on her past and avenge her father.
