Origin and character background (Lore)
Created by DreamWorks Studios in 2001,Donkey is a talkative, eccentric but deeply loyal donkey who crosses paths with Shrek whilst he is fleeing from Lord Farquaad’s guards. Against all odds, he manages to break through the grumpy ogre’s solitary shell to become his best friend and accompany him on all his quests, from rescuing Princess Fiona to his surprising romance with a fearsome dragon.
A true comic mainstay of the saga, Donkey has become an iconic figure in animated cinema thanks to his infectious good humour, his cult lines (such as his passion for waffles) and his unwavering loyalty. This gift set celebrates his cheerful spirit and brings a touch of humour and comforting nostalgia to your morning routine.
