Ladevorgang
This MODEROID model kit, licensed under the Pacific Rim franchise, recreates Cherno Alpha, the imposing Russian Mark-1 Jaeger featured in Guillermo del Toro’s film. Designed by Good Smile Company, the model stands approximately 22 cm tall when assembled and features numerous joints, allowing its posture to be adjusted to recreate various combat poses.
The model was designed using the 3DCG data from the film to accurately recreate Cherno Alpha’s particularly massive silhouette. Its design is characterised by its imposing upper structure, heavily armoured shoulders and arms, and the industrial aesthetic typical of the early Jaegers. The separation of the parts into different colours, combined with pre-painted elements and transparent parts, ensures a finish faithful to the film version as soon as it is assembled.
The kit also includes decals to complete the Jaeger’s markings and exterior details. Several interchangeable parts are included, notably different hands as well as components to extend the arms, allowing Cherno Alpha to be posed delivering a punch. The model’s joints offer sufficient mobility to vary its display, despite the robot’s deliberately massive and heavy appearance.
Part of Good Smile Company’s MODEROID range, this model kit is supplied as a build-it-yourself kit. This collection uses moulded parts in different colours and partially pre-painted elements to allow for a satisfactory display without the need for painting, whilst giving model-makers the option to add their own paintwork, weathering effects or other personalised finishes.

Character background and universe (Lore)
In Pacific Rim, humanity builds the Jaegers, gigantic humanoid machines designed to fight the Kaiju emerging from an interdimensional rift at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. These machines are usually controlled simultaneously by two pilots linked by a neural connection known as the Drift, which allows them to share memories, thoughts and reflexes in order to manoeuvre a single Jaeger.
Cherno Alpha is a first-generation Russian Jaeger, classified as Mark-1. It is piloted by Sasha and Aleksis Kaidanovsky and is one of the oldest Jaegers still in operation at the time of the film’s events. Its design prioritises physical power and durability: its extremely heavy armour, reinforced arms and combat style based on direct strikes give it a much heavier and more industrial appearance than that of more recent generations of Jaegers.
In particular, Cherno Alpha defended Russian territory and the Siberian region against Kaiju attacks before being transferred to the Shatterdome in Hong Kong. Despite its age, it is still portrayed as a particularly robust machine, capable of withstanding heavy damage whilst responding with considerable physical force. Its pilots, Sasha and Aleksis, also share a long history of Drifting together and are among the experienced crews still engaged in the war against the Kaiju.
With its massive build, angular armour and design inspired by Russian military equipment, Cherno Alpha boasts one of the most distinctive silhouettes in *Pacific Rim*. The MODEROID faithfully recreates this aesthetic, drawing on digital data from the film to transform the Jaeger into an articulated model designed for assembly and display.
