Character background and universe (Lore)

Albedo is one of the main characters in Overlord, a series of light novels written by Kugane Maruyama. She is the Chief Guardian of the Great Tomb of Nazarick and holds a central position amongst the servants of Ainz Ooal Gown.

Originally created as an NPC in the game Yggdrasil, Albedo became a fully conscious being when Nazarick was transported to a new world. She is known for her intelligence, immense power and absolute loyalty to Ainz.

Her elegant appearance contrasts with her demonic nature: Albedo notably has horns, black wings and formidable combat abilities. Behind her refined demeanour also lies a possessive and passionate temperament, particularly when it comes to her feelings towards Ainz.

Thanks to her instantly recognisable design, her importance within the Nazarick organisation and her very distinctive personality, Albedo has become one of the most popular characters in the Overlord franchise.
