ONE PIECE - Zoro - Anime Heroes Mega Figure 30cm

This large Bandai figure from the Anime Heroes Mega collection depicts Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Crew in One Piece. Standing 30 cm tall, it depicts the character in a significantly larger scale than the classic 17 cm Anime Heroes figures.

Zoro is depicted in one of his classic looks, with his short green hair, white T-shirt, wide green waistband, black trousers and high boots. His black bandana is tied around his arm and his three swords are worn at his waist, immediately evoking his famous Santoryu fighting style, or three-sword technique.

The sculpt features simple, robust proportions suited to the large scale of the Mega range. The face retains Zoro’s characteristic stern expression, whilst the imposing silhouette and the three weapons at his side make the character instantly recognisable. The colours faithfully replicate those used in the anime, with a striking contrast between the light-coloured top, the green belt and the black trousers.

Bandai states that this figure has 6 points of articulation. Mobility is deliberately more limited than that of the 17 cm Anime Heroes figures in order to maintain good stability despite the 30 cm height. The manufacturer particularly highlights the shoulder and hip joints, which allow for slight adjustments to the pose whilst ensuring the figure remains easy to handle and display.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Roronoa Zoro is one of the main members of the Straw Hat crew and the first companion to join Monkey D. Luffy at the start of his adventure. A former bounty hunter, he has a very specific goal: to become the world’s greatest swordsman. The official One Piece website currently lists him as a member of the Straw Hat crew and the ‘Worst Generation’, with a bounty of 1,111,000,000 berrys.

His speciality is Santoryu, a three-sword fighting style. Zoro wields a blade in each hand and holds the third between his teeth, a particularly unusual method that has become an integral part of his identity. His constant training, exceptional stamina and determination gradually enable him to take on some of the most dangerous fighters in the Grand Line and the New World.

Zoro’s dream is directly linked to Dracule Mihawk, considered the world’s greatest swordsman. Their first encounter ends in a crushing defeat for Zoro, but only serves to strengthen his resolve to surpass Mihawk. During the two-year time skip, he even goes so far as to ask Mihawk to train him so that he can become strong enough to support Luffy and the rest of the crew.

Zoro is also distinguished by his particularly strong loyalty to his captain and his crewmates. Behind his stern demeanour, his passion for training and his famously poor sense of direction, he is one of the crew’s most reliable fighters.

This Anime Heroes Mega version primarily highlights the character’s classic look: green hair, three swords at his belt and a determined demeanour. Its large 30 cm size lends even greater presence to this figure, which has become one of the most recognisable in One Piece.
