Origin and background of the character
Gol D. Roger is the most famous legendary pirate in the history of pop culture, at the heart of the global epic One Piece created by the genius mangaka Eiichiro Oda. The only man to have conquered the entire Grand Line and reached the final island of Laugh Tale with his crew, he claimed the title of Pirate King before surrendering to the Navy due to an incurable illness. By proclaiming the existence of his mythical treasure on the scaffold in Loguetown, Roger ushered in the Golden Age of Piracy, inspiring generations of buccaneers, including Monkey D. Luffy, to set sail in search of absolute freedom.
This 21 cm figurine from the "Ichibansho" collection masterfully captures all the captain’s charisma, raw power and conquering spirit. Depicted in an imposing, authentic pose, the character sports his famous confident smile in the face of danger. The sculpture meticulously highlights his long red captain’s coat with flowing folds, his iconic moustache, his traditional bicorne hat, and the pommel of his legendary sword, Ace. It is the absolute centrepiece, essential for completing and enhancing the historical panorama of Roger’s Pirates alongside Rayleigh, Crocus, Shanks and Buggy.
