This impressive Banpresto figurine depicts Dracule Mihawk, the legendary ‘Hawk’s Eye’ from One Piece, as part of the Premium collection and featuring the special ‘The Brush’ finish. Standing approximately 34 cm tall, this piece stands out as much for its large scale as for its detailed paintwork, designed to accentuate the shadows, the volume of his outfit and the contours of his famous black sword, Yoru.
Mihawk strikes a calm and confident pose, with one arm raised behind his head whilst the other hangs loosely by his side. His piercing gaze, fine sideburns, moustache and goatee are faithfully reproduced, as is his large, wide-brimmed black hat, whose red lining and light-coloured ornamentation immediately emphasise his distinctive silhouette. Around his neck is also his imposing cross-shaped pendant.
His outfit consists of a long black coat, open at the chest and lined in dark red, paired with golden sleeves covered in ornamental patterns. The light-coloured trousers contrast with the high black strappy boots. The ‘The Brush’ finish adds shading that emphasises the folds of the coat and trousers as well as the musculature of the torso, lending greater depth to the overall effect.
Yoru is, naturally, one of the central elements of the composition. The gigantic black blade is carried on his back, its hilt rising behind Mihawk’s head, whilst its broad, golden cruciform guard extends on either side of his silhouette. The engraved designs and colourful ornamentation on the guard are also finished to a particularly high standard. Viewed from the rear, the figurine allows one to appreciate the full length of the weapon as well as the volume of the cloak.

Character background and lore
Dracule Mihawk is known in the One Piece universe by the nickname ‘Hawk’s Eye’ and holds the title of the world’s greatest swordsman. A former member of the Seven Great Pirates, he fights with Yoru, a black blade ranked amongst the twelve supreme swords. His reputation and abilities are such that his current bounty stands at 3.59 billion berrys.
Mihawk appears very early on in Luffy’s adventure when he crosses paths with Roronoa Zoro in the East Blue. Zoro, who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest swordsman, challenges him to a duel. Mihawk immediately demonstrates the vast gulf between them, going so far as to initially face Zoro with a tiny blade before drawing Yoru. Despite his defeat, Zoro’s determination impresses Mihawk enough for him to recognise his potential.
After the Straw Hat crew split up, Zoro meets Mihawk again on Kuraigana Island and, paradoxically, asks him to become his master so that he might one day surpass him. Mihawk agrees and trains him for two years in the art of the sword and Haki, thereby making his future rival one of his own pupils.
Following the abolition of the Grand Pirates system, Mihawk finds himself allied with Crocodile and Buggy within the Cross Guild. His presence is one of the main reasons for the organisation’s perceived power, and he remains one of its most formidable members. Recent official One Piece announcements continue to feature him alongside Buggy and Crocodile as one of the central figures of the Cross Guild.
This ‘The Brush’ Premium figurine specifically highlights the character’s most iconic image: a swordsman standing almost motionless and utterly confident in his strength, whose mere presence, gaze and the immense Yoru are enough to underscore his status as the absolute benchmark for all swordsmen in One Piece.
