Marin Kitagawa is one of the main characters in *My Dress-Up Darling*, a manga by Shinichi Fukuda adapted into an anime series by CloverWorks. A popular sixth-form student and magazine model, Marin stands out for her outgoing and enthusiastic personality. She is also passionate about anime, manga and video games, and dreams of taking up cosplay seriously.
Her interest in cosplay brings her closer to her classmate Wakana Gojo, a young man who aspires to become a craftsman specialising in making the faces of hina dolls. Gojo’s sewing skills enable him to help Marin make the costumes for the characters she wishes to portray. Their collaboration on these creations forms the starting point of their relationship and is one of the story’s main threads.
For this XStellar version, SEGA has not recreated one of Marin’s best-known cosplay costumes but has chosen to depict her in a swimsuit, set against an aquatic backdrop. The splash-shaped base and the dynamic pose are thus designed to highlight the character’s spontaneous, expressive and energetic nature.
