Build one of the most iconic mechas in video game history with this 1/100-scale Metal Gear REX model kit from Kotobukiya. Directly inspired by the first Metal Gear Solid, this model kit faithfully reproduces the gigantic, nuclear-capable bipedal mecha conceived for the Konami universe.
Once assembled, the model measures approximately 22 cm in total length. It is constructed from a combination of PS, PE, ABS and phthalate-free PVC. The kit allows you to recreate REX’s complex mechanical forms, its imposing armament and its numerous joints in a highly detailed format.
The set also includes four small 1/100-scale miniatures: Solid Snake, Liquid Snake and two versions of Cyborg Ninja / Gray Fox. One depicts the ninja standing upright, whilst the other allows you to recreate the famous scene where he is crushed under the foot of Metal Gear REX. These figures are supplied unpainted.
A special base inspired by the Shadow Moses hangar completes the set, allowing you to recreate the atmosphere of the original confrontation. This reissue therefore retains the appeal of both an articulated mechanical model kit and a genuine diorama dedicated to one of the most memorable moments in Metal Gear Solid.

The Metal Gear REX is the central weapon around which much of the plot of the first Metal Gear Solid revolves. Secretly developed on Shadow Moses, it takes the form of a gigantic bipedal tank designed to possess a nuclear strike capability whilst remaining extremely mobile.
Its silhouette has become one of the most recognisable in the franchise: two powerful mechanical legs, an armoured cockpit and, above all, a gigantic railgun mounted on the side. The REX’s original design is closely associated with the mechanical art style of the Metal Gear series, and Kotobukiya has developed its model kit to faithfully reproduce this aesthetic.
In Metal Gear Solid, Solid Snake infiltrates Shadow Moses to neutralise the FOXHOUND unit and prevent the use of Metal Gear REX. His confrontation with the machine is one of the game’s climactic moments, with Liquid Snake at the controls and the decisive intervention of Gray Fox, also known as the Cyborg Ninja.
The selection of the four mini-figures included in this kit allows you to recreate several elements of this sequence, notably the clash between Gray Fox and REX. The base, inspired by the hangar, further enhances this diorama effect.
