Character background and universe (Lore)
In the legendary Secret Wars crossover, Peter Parker’s fate is turned upside down during a titanic clash on the artificial planet Battleworld. With his red and blue vigilante suit heavily damaged in battle, he uses a strange alien machine that releases a mysterious black substance. This symbiotic entity instantly covers his body, replacing his armour with a dark suit endowed with regenerative powers and the ability to generate unlimited web. Still unaware that this is a living organism that will later give rise to the fearsome Venom, Spider-Man explores the vastly increased power of this new look. This figure celebrates one of the most striking and influential visual and narrative transitions in the entire history of American comics.
