Character origin and lore
In the Marvel Comics universe, Doctor Doom (Victor von Doom) is not merely a criminal, but the absolute and undisputed ruler of the European nation of Latveria. Endowed with a scientific genius rivalling that of Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic), he is also an unrivalled master of the mystical arts and sorcery. Concealing his disfigured face behind a rigid iron mask and a powerful, high-tech suit of armour of his own invention, Doom is driven by boundless ambition, unshakeable pride and a fierce hatred for the Fantastic Four. A central and charismatic figure in the Marvel universe, he embodies the perfect tyrannical leader, walking the fine line between a ruthless sovereign protecting his people and a megalomaniac conqueror ready to subjugate the entire Earth. This compact card game pays a vibrant tribute to his regal presence and his stature as a legendary villain.
