This Banpresto figurine depicts Genya Naruko, heir to the Sound Masters lineage in MARRIAGETOXIN. Part of the ESPRESTO – Sound Master collection, it stands approximately 25 cm tall and offers a understated and elegant portrayal of the character.
Genya is depicted standing in a calm pose, with his hands clasped in front of his face. His long blonde hair is tied back in a ponytail, whilst several strands fall freely across his face, complementing the sculpture’s movement. His slightly smiling expression and almost-closed eyes convey his self-assurance and, above all, the relaxed demeanour essential to the use of his abilities.
His deliberately simple outfit consists of a fitted black long-sleeved top, loose-fitting grey trousers tapered at the ankles, and black sandals. This casual appearance is perfectly in keeping with the character, whose fighting methods rely on the control of sound whilst requiring him to remain perfectly relaxed. The sculpture therefore emphasises his demeanour and silhouette rather than a scene laden with special effects.

Character background and lore
Genya Naruko is a direct descendant of the ‘Sound Masters’, specialists capable of using sound as a weapon. The anime’s official website describes him as a character with a very distinctive aura and an instantly recognisable way of speaking. Extremely charming, he is also very popular with women.
However, his abilities require him to remain completely relaxed. Genya has therefore developed his own methods for unwinding before and whilst using his powers. This trait explains his nonchalant demeanour and is one of the key elements of his fighting style.
In the MARRIAGETOXIN storyline, Genya appears during the arc centred on Shiori Ureshino. Hikaru Gero accepts a mission to protect this young heiress and poses as a student at her university. The situation takes a dramatic turn when Genya, introduced as the Sound Master, attacks Shiori on campus and becomes Gero’s direct adversary.
MARRIAGETOXIN follows Hikaru Gero, heir to a centuries-old family of assassins. When his family demands that he marry and produce an heir to ensure the continuation of the bloodline, Gero seeks the help of Mei Kinosaki, a specialist in marriage scams, to learn how to find a partner. The series thus combines romantic comedy, the search for a spouse and clashes between assassins from specialised lineages, of whom Genya is one of the most memorable representatives.
