Origin and background of the character
Gollum is a fictional character from the legendary works created by the British writer J. R. R. Tolkien, appearing in his novels *The Hobbit* and *The Lord of the Rings*. Formerly known as Sméagol, this peaceful Hobbit’s life is turned upside down when he comes into possession of the One Ring forged by the Dark Lord Sauron. Corrupted by the artefact’s evil power during centuries of isolation in the heart of the Misty Mountains, his mind splits into two distinct personalities: the docile Sméagol and the devious, obsessive and calculating Gollum. This vinyl figurine perfectly captures this tragic duality, highlighting his piercing gaze, pale skin and characteristic crouching postures. An essential choice for bringing the mythical atmosphere of the Fellowship of the Ring’s quest to the shelves of collectors and enthusiasts of Tolkien’s work.
