Origin and world of the character (Lore)
The eldest son of Denethor II, the Intendant of Gondor, Boromir is a warlord respected and revered by the people of Minas Tirith for his bravery against the legions of Mordor. Chosen to represent the Men at the Council of Elrond in Rivendell, he joins the Fellowship of the Ring to guide the Bearer on his quest. Although his mind is temporarily corrupted by the evil and manipulative influence of the One Ring - wishing to use it to save his own kingdom - Boromir finds heroic redemption at the Battle of Amon Hen. Alone against an army of Uruk-hai, he courageously sacrifices his life by taking multiple arrows in an attempt to protect the Hobbits Merry and Pippin, sealing his status as a true hero of Middle-earth.
