This Pyramid International magnetic bookmark, officially licensed under *The Lord of the Rings*, features the ‘Epic Journey’ design. Inspired by the long journey through Middle-earth, it combines a lush landscape of the Shire with a dark green and gold finish, in a compact format designed to accompany novels, notebooks and diaries.
The front features a circular illustration of the Shire, with its green hills, Hobbit homes, a winding path and a small bridge crossed by a cart. The image is surrounded by a gold frame and complemented by The Lord of the Rings logo at the bottom. The design as a whole evokes a warm aesthetic reminiscent of the starting point of Frodo’s journey.
The reverse side retains the dark green colour scheme and golden embellishments. A plant motif inspired by leaves accompanies the phrase ‘Even the smallest person can change the course of the future’, a reference to the decisive role that Hobbits can play despite their small stature. The saga’s logo also appears at the bottom.

Origin and lore
The Lord of the Rings tells the story of the War of the Ring and the journey undertaken to destroy Sauron’s One Ring. The story takes Frodo Baggins from the Shire to Mordor, where the Ring must be cast into the flames of Orodruin, the Mount of Destiny, the only place where it can be destroyed.
Frodo thus leaves the peaceful surroundings of the Shire with Sam, Merry and Pippin. After numerous encounters and trials, the Council of Elrond decides that the Ring must be destroyed and forms the Fellowship of the Ring around the young Hobbit. The Fellowship also includes Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas and Gimli, representatives of several free peoples of Middle-earth.
The journey takes them through places as diverse as Rivendell, the Misty Mountains, the Mines of Moria, Lothlórien and the lands leading to Mordor. After the Fellowship is disbanded, Frodo continues his mission with Sam, whilst the other companions are drawn into the conflicts that will determine the fate of Middle-earth.
The ‘Epic Journey’ design of this bookmark directly echoes this contrast between the peaceful Shire and the vastness of the quest that awaits Frodo. The lush green landscape depicted on its front thus evokes the home from which an adventure sets out that is destined to decide the fate of all Middle-earth.
