Origin and world of the character
The character of Gimli (son of Glóin) comes from the literary and cinematic epic fantasy masterpiece The Lord of the Rings, imagined by the British writer J.R.R. Tolkien and directed for the cinema by Peter Jackson. As the official representative of the Dwarven people on Elrond's Council at Rivendell, he joins the Fellowship of the Ring to help the Ring-bearer, Frodo Baggins, in his quest to destroy the One Ring. Armed with his fearsome battle-axes and dressed in his heavy armour, Gimli shatters age-old prejudices by forging an unfailing and legendary friendship with the elf Legolas. Funko's "Sayings" range showcases the fiery temperament, gruff humour and memorable lines of this proud warrior in the greatest battles of Middle-earth, from Helm's Deep to the gates of Mordor.
