Discover Gen Narumi in a Power Up version with this Funko POP! Animation No. 2622 figurine, inspired by *Kaiju No. 8*. Standing approximately 12.7 cm tall, this figure depicts the captain of the First Division of the Defence Forces in a reinforced combat configuration, ready to take on the most dangerous kaiju.
Gen Narumi is depicted with his distinctive hair slicked back, his black breathing mask and his combat suit. His eyes take on a bright pink hue with a distinctive pattern, suggesting the activation of his advanced visual abilities. He also holds his imposing personal weapon with both hands, emphasising the offensive nature of this version.
The figure is surrounded by several translucent pink-and-purple effects that lend greater volume and dynamism to the composition. These elements emphasise the idea of a power surge suggested by the ‘Power Up’ name, whilst providing a striking contrast to the dark tones of his suit and weapon.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Gen Narumi is the captain of the First Division of the Anti-Kaiju Defence Forces, considered the organisation’s most powerful unit. The official Kaiju No. 8 website describes him as the strongest man in the Defence Forces and as one of the fighters whom Kafka Hibino must convince of his worth following his transfer.
Despite this exceptional reputation on the battlefield, Gen has a much less disciplined personality outside of missions. He is notably known for neglecting certain administrative tasks in favour of playing video games – a deliberate contrast between his everyday behaviour and his effectiveness when facing a kaiju. The official website describes him as an extremely powerful but also arrogant fighter, often absent from meetings or busy playing games.
One of Gen’s main strengths lies in his equipment linked to Kaiju No. 1. In particular, he uses the RT-0001 system, derived from Kaiju No. 1’s retinas, which allows him to perceive his opponents’ brain and muscle signals in order to anticipate their movements. When he activates this ability, his eyes change in appearance – a detail directly replicated in this Power Up version.
Gen is also capable of using the Numbers Weapon 1, a suit designed using parts from Kaiju No. 1 that further amplifies his powers of perception and prediction. This combination of specialised equipment, exceptional reflexes and combat prowess explains why he is regarded as Japan’s most formidable anti-kaiju fighter. POP! No. 2622 specifically highlights this aspect of the character, featuring his activated eyes, his mask, his weapon and his energy effects.
