Origin and background of the character
Created by Naoya Matsumoto, the globally successful manga Kaiju No. 8 plunges readers into a contemporary Japan under constant attack from giant monsters known as Kaijus. To counter this apocalypse, the Japan Defence Forces (JAKDF) deploy heavily armed elite troops. Kikoru Shinomiya is a young prodigy and the daughter of the Director-General of the Defence Forces. Regarded as the greatest recruit in the organisation’s history, she displays a staggering power output from her very first use of the combat suits. Armed with a giant, custom-made axe that emits devastating shockwaves, behind her haughty and competitive demeanour lies a fierce determination to protect her comrades and live up to her father’s exacting expectations. This Funko Pop! figurine faithfully captures her dynamic appearance and her distinctive pigtails beneath her official gear.
