Character background and lore

Chihiro Rokuhira is the hero of *Kagurabachi*, a manga written and illustrated by Takeru Hokazono and serialised in *Weekly Shonen Jump* since 2023. During his childhood, Chihiro learnt the craft of blacksmithing from his father, Kunishige Rokuhira, regarded as the country’s most famous swordsmith.

Kunishige is notably responsible for forging six enchanted swords, the power of which helped to bring an end to a major war. After the conflict, he retrieved these weapons and hid them in his workshop. However, sorcerers attack their home, murder Kunishige and steal the six blades. Chihiro survives the attack and sets out to track down those responsible, as well as the stolen swords.

To carry out this quest, Chihiro wields Enten, the seventh and final enchanted sword forged by his father. His journey leads him, in particular, to confront the Hishaku, a group of powerful sorcerers linked to Kunishige’s murder and the theft of the weapons. Revenge, family legacy and the responsibility associated with the enchanted swords are thus central themes in his story.
