Based on K-ON!, this Banpresto figurine depicts Azusa Nakano, the youngest member of Ho-kago Tea Time, as part of the SQ Figure collection. Standing approximately 24 cm tall, she joins the figures dedicated to Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka and Tsumugi Kotobuki, with a pose inspired by the everyday school life of the members of the light music club.
Azusa is depicted in her summer school uniform, consisting of a white short-sleeved shirt, a cream-coloured sleeveless waistcoat, a red ribbon and a light blue pleated skirt. Her long black hair is styled in two plaited pigtails, one of her distinctive features. She also carries a black guitar case on her back, held in place by her shoulder straps, which directly reflects her role as the band’s guitarist.
The figure strikes a particularly dynamic pose: Azusa leans slightly forwards, arms outstretched and one leg bent behind her, giving the impression that she is taking an energetic step forward. The open expression on her face and the movement of her long pigtails reinforce this sensation. This design is in keeping with the other recent K-ON! SQ Figures, whilst giving Azusa a distinctive pose that is easily recognisable within the series.
Azusa Nakano joins the light music club in her first year of sixth form and finds herself in the same class as Ui Hirasawa, Yui’s younger sister. Unlike the other members, who tend to be rather laid-back, Azusa has a very serious nature and regularly worries that too much time is spent on tea and biscuits rather than on rehearsals.
She has been playing the guitar since primary school, having started under the influence of her parents, who are musicians themselves, and already has a solid level of skill when she joins the club. Her arrival brings the group’s membership up to five: Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, Tsumugi Kotobuki and Azusa Nakano, who perform together under the name Ho-kago Tea Time.
Despite her efforts to maintain greater discipline during rehearsals, Azusa gradually grows fond of the club’s unique atmosphere and her fellow members. This SQ Figure directly evokes her side as a musician thanks to the guitar case she carries on her back, whilst depicting her in a relaxed school scene typical of the K-ON! universe.
