This vinyl figurine depicts the character Kuromi, from the Sanrio universe and the Hello Kitty & Friends franchise. This model is produced by Funko as part of its POP! Sanrio range, in an exclusive Funko Special Edition.
The character is depicted from the front, wearing a purple kimono adorned with floral patterns and a light-coloured sash tied at the front. Her distinctive black jester’s cap is topped with a pink skull, and she wears a pink and lavender floral accessory on her ear. The figurine comes in an illustrated window box featuring the Sanrio brand colours.
Technical specificationsIn the Sanrio universe, Kuromi is a small black creature wearing a jester’s hat, created in 2005 as My Melody’s self-proclaimed rival. Behind her rebellious appearance and punk-rock attitude lies a character with a big heart, who is ambitious and mischievous, and who has established herself as one of the franchise’s most popular characters amongst teenage and adult audiences.
This kimono-clad figurine is part of the celebrations marking Kuromi’s 20th anniversary, highlighted in particular by an animated series produced by Netflix in collaboration with Sanrio, *My Melody & Kuromi*, due to be broadcast from July 2025. It thus captures an elegant and festive take on the character, a departure from her usual aesthetic yet true to the kawaii spirit of the franchise.
