Discover Hatsune Miku in a design inspired by a rainy day with this Trio-Try-iT – Rainy Dance figurine produced by FuRyu. Standing approximately 19 cm tall, this pre-painted figurine depicts the famous virtual singer in a light and dynamic pose, set against a backdrop dominated by various shades of blue and translucent elements evoking the rain.
Miku is depicted in a blue dress with multiple layers of ruffles, embellished with transparent sections and white details. Her long turquoise pigtails fan out widely around her and end in translucent effects that accentuate the impression of movement. A transparent blue umbrella completes the scene, whilst her pose, captured mid-dance step, directly conveys the ‘Rainy Dance’ theme. The design is based on an original illustration by Hana Amagi.
This non-articulated figurine is made primarily from PVC, with ABS used specifically for certain transparent elements. The Trio-Try-iT range has been developed by FuRyu around three key principles — quality, dimensions and sculpting — and prioritises expressive poses designed to showcase the characters. This ‘Rainy Dance’ version fully embodies this principle through the movement of the dress, hair and umbrella.
Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer developed by Crypton Future Media. Originally launched in August 2007 as the VOCALOID2 Hatsune Miku software, she uses a voice bank created from the voice of Japanese actress Saki Fujita. Her official profile describes her as a 16-year-old virtual singer, 158 cm tall, recognisable in particular by her two long blue-green pigtails.
Her name is associated with the phrase ‘first sound of the future’. Building on the original software, users have created a vast number of songs, illustrations, videos and other derivative works. Crypton describes Miku as having evolved from a voice synthesiser into a cultural figure collectively shaped by an international community of creators.
Unlike a character from a traditional narrative, Hatsune Miku can take on a wide variety of visual identities depending on the artists and projects in which she features. The ‘Rainy Dance’ version does not, therefore, represent a specific canonical transformation: it is an original interpretation illustrated by Hana Amagi, in which Miku’s visual universe is reimagined around the themes of rain, transparency and the movement of dance.
