Celebrate spring alongside Hatsune Miku with this 3rd Season Spring Ver. figurine produced by Taito. Standing approximately 18 cm tall, this figurine is part of the seasonal series created by the manufacturer featuring the famous virtual singer. The Spring version is the third instalment in this collection dedicated to the four seasons and depicts Miku as a little spring fairy.

Miku is depicted in a short white and pale green dress, adorned with pink flowers on the lower part. A pink belt tied at the waist adds an extra touch of colour, whilst small, translucent pinkish wings on her back reinforce the fairy-tale theme. Her long turquoise locks also feature a pink gradient at the ends, and her hairstyle is adorned with small floral ornaments.

Character background and lore

Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer developed by Crypton Future Media and originally released on 31 August 2007 as voice synthesis software. The programme allows creators to have her perform their own compositions by inputting melodies and lyrics. Her name can be interpreted as the ‘first sound of the future’.

Her official profile describes her as a 16-year-old virtual singer, standing 158 cm tall, recognisable by her long blue-green pigtails. Following her launch, users quickly began producing and sharing songs, illustrations, videos and animations centred on the character, giving rise to a significant international collaborative culture.

Miku has thus gradually evolved from being a character accompanying music software to a virtual singer appearing in concerts, video games, artistic collaborations and a vast array of merchandise. Crypton emphasises that this evolution is largely based on the creations produced and shared by its community.

The ‘3rd Season Spring’ version is not linked to any specific canonical storyline. It forms part of a series of seasonal designs by Taito that reinterpret Hatsune Miku according to different times of the year. For spring, the manufacturer has chosen the theme of a ‘spring fairy’, based on an illustration specially created by Syugao and combining flowers, pastel colours and translucent wings.
