Origin and world of the character
The character of Albus Dumbledore comes from the literary fantasy world created by British author J.K. Rowling, and later adapted for the cinema by Warner Bros. In this fictional world, Albus Dumbledore is headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Recognised as one of the most powerful wizards of his time, he played a key role in the defeat of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in 1945, before founding and leading the Order of the Phoenix, a secret organisation set up to fight Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
