Product origin and background
The Marauder’s Map is a magical document of exceptional power, created during their school days by Remus Lupin (Lunard), Peter Pettigrew (Queudver), Sirius Black (Patmol) and James Potter (Cornedrue). This secret artefact possesses the unique ability to reveal, in real time, the exact location, movements and identity of every person within the grounds of Hogwarts School. As well as listing the castle’s inhabitants, it maps out every room and corridor, as well as the seven secret tunnels and hidden passages leading directly to the neighbouring village of Hogsmeade. To activate its lines using a wand, the wizard must utter the ritual phrase ‘I solemnly swear that my intentions are evil’ and conceal its contents with ‘Done’.
