Character background and universe (Lore)
In the chronology of the Gundam Cosmic Era universe, the Destiny Gundam Spec II is the modernised and optimised version of the original mecha. Piloted by ace pilot Shinn Asuka under the banner of the Compass organisation, this Mobile Suit has undergone a major technical overhaul. Its hyper-deuterium reactor has been upgraded, its variable phase-shift armour optimised, and its combat systems updated to counter the threat posed by the Foundation. During the final battle, activated in its maximum power mode with its joints glowing red under the effect of the energy, it deploys its "Wings of Light" to saturate the battlefield with holographic mirages and destroy its enemies at lightning speed. This figure captures the technological essence of this legendary machine.
