Meet One-Eyed Willy, the legendary pirate at the heart of the plot of *The Goonies*, with this POP! Movies No. 2166 figurine from Funko. Standing approximately 9.4 cm tall, this edition reimagines the famous pirate captain in the stylised POP! range, with a special glitter finish.
Willy is depicted in his skeletal form, seated in his captain’s chair. The figurine notably features his light-coloured headband, his imposing black eye patch and his pirate outfit with red, green and gold detailing. This design directly references the Goonies’ discovery of his remains aboard the Inferno, amidst the treasure they had been searching for throughout their adventure.
One-Eyed Willy is the legendary pirate whose story sets the whole Goonies adventure in motion. According to the legend told in the film, in the 17th century he amassed a vast treasure consisting mainly of coins, jewellery and precious stones. Pursued by a British fleet, he took refuge with his ship, the Inferno, in a network of caves before finding himself trapped there.
Centuries later, Mikey and his friends discover an old map leading to Willy’s treasure. After navigating a series of traps, they finally reach the Inferno and discover the captain’s skeleton, still seated in front of his fortune. Mikey then pays him deep respect and regards him as the ‘first Goonie’, before the group attempts to make off with part of the treasure.
