Origin and world of the character
Withered Foxy is a major version of the famous animatronic pirate fox from the independent horror video game franchise Five Nights at Freddy's, introduced specifically in Five Nights at Freddy's 2. In this universe, the "Withered" version refers to the old animatronic models from the first pizzeria, left to rot in the Parts & Service room to serve as a bank of electronic components for the new "Toy" models. This treatment gives him a particularly frightening appearance: his red mechanical fur is largely torn, revealing many parts of his metal endoskeleton, his left ear is bare and his emblematic hook and eye patch remain attached to his damaged carcass. Unlike the other robots, he is impervious to the Freddy Fazbear mask used by the night watchman to camouflage himself, forcing the player to rigorously use his torch to dazzle him and stop his aggressive run down the central corridor.
