This Kotobukiya model kit depicts Evangelion Unit-13 in its ‘Awake’ form, as it appears in *Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo*. Built to a scale of 1/400, the model stands approximately 19 cm tall when assembled and faithfully reproduces the distinctive silhouette of the EVA-13, with its light-coloured armour in shades of white and purple, black and green accents, and, above all, its spectacular four-armed configuration.
The Awake transformation is highlighted by several distinctive features. The head features an articulated jaw that can be opened without replacing any parts, as well as pre-painted eye parts that allow the unit’s normal or ‘awake’ appearance to be reproduced. The neck joint allows the head to be raised significantly, whilst the thigh and knee mechanisms follow the movements of the legs to achieve more natural poses. The two additional arms can be fitted using the interchangeable parts provided.
The kit also includes two lances, which can be used separately or joined together using a connecting piece to recreate a combined configuration. A large translucent halo is supplied with its own specific mounts, along with a transparent Flying Base that allows the Evangelion Unit-13 to be displayed in mid-air. The set thus enables the recreation of several poses directly inspired by the film’s awakening sequence.
The design combines detailed sculpting with a CAD-engineered articulation system. The kit comprises between 401 and 600 parts, depending on Kotobukiya’s official classification, and utilises several types of engineering plastics suited to the model’s various components. It is primarily aimed at model kit enthusiasts and fans of the Evangelion saga who wish to own an articulated and customisable representation of one of the most unconventional EVAs from the Rebuild series

Evangelion Unit-13 appears in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, the third film in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy. Built by NERV, it features an unusual design amongst the Evangelions, notably two Entry Plugs and the ability to deploy four arms. Shinji Ikari and Kaworu Nagisa pilot it together during their descent into Terminal Dogma.
During this sequence, EVA-13 removes two lances embedded in Lilith. This act triggers a series of catastrophic events and causes her to awaken. The unit then takes on a far more menacing appearance: its eyes change, two additional arms appear and a vast halo manifests above it. It becomes a central element in triggering the Fourth Impact, one of the major events at the end of the film.
The ‘Awake’ version produced by Kotobukiya focuses specifically on this transformation. The four arms, the two spears, the distinctive eyes, the articulated jaw and the large halo all serve to recreate the appearance of the EVA-13 at the moment it transcends its conventional state to attain this ‘awakened’ form.
