Funko’s POP! Movies collection welcomes Chani in a new design inspired by Dune: Part Three. Numbered 2153, this ‘Crouching’ figure strikes a dynamic, crouching pose, directly evoking the Fremen woman’s qualities as a fighter and survivor. 

The figure depicts Chani in a brown-toned desert outfit, protected by various layers of clothing and equipment suited to the conditions of Arrakis. She is sculpted with one knee close to the ground, holding a blade with both hands in a combat-ready stance. Her intense blue eyes – characteristic of inhabitants regularly exposed to the Spice – stand out particularly well in the graphic style of the POP! figures. A small blue mark on her forehead and a scar complete the details of her face.

This crouching pose clearly sets this edition apart from the more static POP! depictions of the character. Its transparent base ensures the figure’s stability whilst remaining unobtrusive, making this figurine ideal for display alongside the other characters from the Dune: Part Three collection.

Character background and lore

Chani is a Fremen from Arrakis and one of the central characters in the Dune saga created by Frank Herbert. Accustomed from a very young age to the extreme conditions of the desert planet, she has mastered the rules essential for survival in the desert and possesses a thorough understanding of the Fremen way of life.

Her encounter with Paul Atreides marks a major turning point in both their stories. Chani helps him understand the customs of her people, navigate the desert and integrate amongst the Fremen. Their relationship gradually becomes much more personal, whilst Paul’s influence amongst the people of Arrakis grows. In *Dune: Part Two*, Paul thus joins forces with Chani and the Fremen in his fight against those who destroyed House Atreides.

Chani is not, however, confined to the role of Paul’s companion. An experienced warrior and deeply devoted to her people, she also embodies a Fremen vision of Arrakis, its environment and its future. In Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptations, she is played by Zendaya. The combat pose chosen for this POP! No. 2153 specifically highlights this determined and combative side of the character.
