This Banpresto figurine depicts Jackie Chun, the alias used by Master Roshi / Kamesennin during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai in Dragon Ball. Part of the Match Makers collection, it measures approximately 13 cm and has been specially designed to be displayed opposite the 12 cm Son Goku figurine, sold separately. Together, the two items allow you to recreate the final of the first major martial arts tournament in which Goku took part.
Jackie Chun appears in his famous disguise, intended to conceal his true identity from his pupils. His white wig and white hair completely alter Master Roshi’s usual appearance, whilst his traditional martial arts outfit emphasises his role as an experienced fighter. Banpresto presents him in a fluid, focused stance, specifically designed to visually complement Goku’s offensive pose.
The Match Makers range is based on the concept of two complementary figures representing the opponents in the same battle. This item is part 2/2 of the duo, whilst Son Goku forms part 1/2. When placed together, the two pieces recreate the face-to-face confrontation between the young disciple and his disguised master during the final of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai.

Character background and lore
Jackie Chun is actually Master Roshi in disguise. After training Goku and Krillin, the old master recognises their impressive progress and decides to secretly take part in the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai. His aim is not simply to win: he wants to prevent his pupils from believing they have already become the world’s most powerful fighters and to encourage them to continue their training.
Under the guise of Jackie Chun, he first eliminates Yamcha, then faces Krillin before meeting Goku in the final. The fight against his young pupil becomes one of Dragon Ball’s defining duels, pitting Jackie Chun’s experience and technical mastery against Goku’s stamina, instinct and spectacular progress.
The fight ends when the two exhausted opponents simultaneously launch a final kick and collapse. Jackie Chun, who has the advantage of longer legs allowing him to land a slightly more effective blow, finally manages to get back to his feet and claim victory before Goku. He thus becomes the champion of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai and achieves precisely the goal he had set himself: to show his pupil that there are still opponents capable of surpassing him.
