Character background and lore
Inspired by the famous classic Disney animated feature film released in 1959, Aurora is a princess who has spent much of her life in hiding, pursuing a single goal: to escape a terrible curse and find her place in a world where she knows nothing of her own origins. Raised in secret under the name Rose by three fairy godmothers in the heart of a secluded forest, she grew up far from the splendour of court life, learning to conceal her true identity behind a simple existence whilst developing extraordinary grace and strength of character. Her life takes an irreversible turn when she pricks her finger on a spinning wheel spindle on her sixteenth birthday, falling into an eternal slumber orchestrated by Maleficent. This marks the beginning of a gruelling collective quest, in which the memory of her purity and the power of true love will guide Prince Philip through flames and brambles, making Aurora the indispensable symbol of light’s triumph over the realm of the dead.
