Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Released in 1991, Beauty and the Beast was the first animated feature film in cinema history to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. Belle is an independent, dreamy young woman with a passion for reading, who chooses to become a prisoner in an enchanted castle to save her father Maurice, who has been captured by a monstrous Beast. As the days go by, she learns to look beyond appearances and makes friends with the staff, who are transformed into household objects. This special edition celebrates the 30th anniversary of the work and captures a crucial scene: the one where Belle uses the magic mirror, the only tool that allows her to view the outside world from a distance or to reveal her host's inner self or distress.
