Origin and background of the character
Hikari Yagami (commonly known as Kari), Taichi’s younger sister, is the eighth DigiDestined in the famous Japanese animated series Digimon Adventure, a major franchise successfully launched in 1997. Guardian of the symbol of Light, Hikari is distinguished by her innate kindness and unique spiritual sensitivity. Her designated partner is Tailmon (Gatomon), a Champion-level Digimon resembling a bipedal white cat equipped with gloves featuring sharp claws similar to those of SaberLeomon. Although she was initially under the control of the forces of darkness due to her difficult past, her encounter with Hikari awakens her true nature as a sacred protector. Banpresto’s “DXF-Adventure Archives” collection captures these emotionally charged interactions through delicate sculpting, offering a must-have piece to celebrate the nostalgia of this generational classic.
