Origin and character background (Lore)

Tanjiro Kamado is the main character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. After his family was slaughtered by a demon and his sister Nezuko was turned into a demon, he decided to join the Demon Slayer Corps in order to find a way to restore her humanity and track down the person responsible for the deaths of his loved ones.

Tanjiro is distinguished by his deeply compassionate nature and an exceptionally keen sense of smell, which enables him, in particular, to detect his opponents’ weaknesses. Trained by Sakonji Urokodaki, he first mastered the Water Breathing technique, before also utilising the Hinokami Kagura, a technique passed down through his family.

His green and black checked haori has become one of the visual elements most immediately associated with the character. This Monogram lanyard incorporates precisely this colour scheme, along with several illustrations of Tanjiro, transforming his visual identity into a practical accessory for carrying cards and badges.
