Character background and lore

Sanemi Shinazugawa is one of the nine Hashira, the most powerful fighters in the Demon Slayer Corps. He holds the title of Wind Hashira and masters the Wind Breathing style, a particularly aggressive fighting style based on rapid, sharp attacks.

Sanemi is characterised by his explosive temper, his deep mistrust of demons and his often brutal demeanour. His body is covered in numerous scars, bearing witness to the countless battles he has fought throughout his life as a Demon Slayer.

He has a complex relationship with his younger brother, Genya Shinazugawa, who is also a member of the Corps. Behind his tough and aloof demeanour, however, lies a deep desire to protect those he cares about, even though he rarely expresses his feelings directly.

Thanks to his power, his particularly intense character and his decisive role in the battles against Muzan’s demons, Sanemi Shinazugawa has become one of the most memorable Hashira in Demon Slayer.
