Character background and lore
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is a new, standalone ten-episode series produced by CD PROJEKT RED and the animation studio TRIGGER. It returns to Night City with an entirely new cast and explores a story centred on family, obsession, legacy and the consequences of a life spent in the world of edgerunners.
Weak is a veteran of the scene who was once known by the nickname ‘King’. At the height of his career, he led his own team and enjoyed a formidable reputation amongst Night City’s mercenaries.
However, the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 find him a far cry from that former glory. Now stripped of his cybernetic implants and forced to live without ‘chrome’, Weak is trying to find a new reason to carry on in a city that seems to have left him behind.
His past as a seasoned mercenary and his inability to recapture the power that once made him ‘King’ are thus key aspects of his character. This POP! No. 2596 directly references this dual identity, with the armed Chase variant in particular evoking his past as a formidable edgerunner.
