SEGA Goods continues its XStellar ‘Happy Valentine!!’ collection dedicated to Blue Archive with this Koharu Shimoe figurine. Standing approximately 23 cm tall, this figure depicts the Make-Up Work Club member in an outfit specially designed around the Valentine’s Day theme, very different from her usual Trinity General School uniform.
Here, Koharu wears a mauve dress with ruffled trim, adorned with a large bow at the waist and two decorative heart-shaped pockets. The white ruffled top provides a lighter contrast to the overall look, whilst her pink hair, small dark wings and distinctive pink halo immediately bring to mind the character’s key visual features. Her slightly tilted pose, with one hand held close to her face, emphasises the shy and embarrassed nature often associated with Koharu.
The display is completed by a red, heart-shaped base, in keeping with the ‘Happy Valentine!!’ theme. Made from PVC, the figurine is part of SEGA’s XStellar range and can be displayed alongside the other Blue Archive characters featured in this seasonal series, including Hanako.
Koharu Shimoe is a pupil at Trinity General School in Blue Archive. Originally a member of the Justice Task Force, she later joined the Make-Up Work Club due to her poor academic performance and the risk of failing her exams. This group also includes Hifumi Ajitani, Azusa Shirasu and Hanako Urawa.
Koharu readily considers herself a serious and capable student, but regularly finds herself overwhelmed by her studies. She also has a highly reactive personality: even seemingly innocuous remarks or situations are enough to trigger embarrassing interpretations on her part, to which she often responds with particular vigour. This contrast between her desire to appear disciplined and her tendency to lose her composure forms a significant part of her character.
SEGA’s ‘Happy Valentine!!’ version specifically capitalises on this more expressive side of the character. The reserved pose, the shades of pink and mauve, the heart motifs and the matching plinth place Koharu in a Valentine’s Day setting whilst retaining her distinctive features, notably her halo and her small dark wings.
