Origin and world of the character
The character of Uryu Ishida comes from the famous shōnen manga Bleach, written and drawn by Tite Kubo, and more specifically from its successful animated adaptation Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (TYBW). The plot centres on the age-old, apocalyptic conflict between the Shinigami (the reapers of souls) and the Quincy army led by the ruthless Yhwach. A classmate and friendly rival of Ichigo Kurosaki, Uryu stands out for his cold intelligence, his seriousness and his status as the last representative on Earth of the Quincy, a clan of humans capable of manipulating spiritual particles to create destructive arcs of light. In the arc of the Bloody Thousand Year War, his family heritage presents him with a tragic moral dilemma, forcing him to join the ranks of the Vandenreich alongside the Emperor to discover the truth about his origins and his people's past.
