Meet Sebastian Michaelis, Ciel Phantomhive’s demonic butler, with this SEGA Goods figurine from the Luminasta collection. Inspired by the anime Black Butler: Public School Arc (Black Butler – Boarding School Arc), this figure stands approximately 22 cm tall and depicts Sebastian in the guise he adopts whilst infiltrating the prestigious Weston College.

The sculpture depicts Sebastian in a long, elegant and understated black dormitory master’s uniform, complete with glasses and a book held in one hand. His black hair, calm expression and perfectly composed demeanour capture the character’s characteristic refinement. The folds in the garment and its length also lend movement to the figure, whilst the circular base ensures its stability when on display.

Made from PVC, this figurine is part of SEGA’s Luminasta range. The manufacturer states the figurine’s dimensions as approximately 7 × 22 cm. It can be paired with the Luminasta Ciel Phantomhive from the same story arc to bring together the master and his butler in their Weston College outfits.

Character background and lore

Sebastian Michaelis is the butler of the Phantomhive family and Ciel Phantomhive’s loyal servant. Behind the façade of a butler capable of performing every task entrusted to him to perfection lies a demon. Sebastian is bound to Ciel by a contract: he must help him carry out his revenge before he can claim his soul.

In the Public School Arc, Ciel is tasked with investigating several pupils who have stopped communicating with their families. The investigation leads him to the prestigious Weston College, a British institution governed by particularly strict traditions and a rigid hierarchy. Ciel enrols there as a pupil, whilst Sebastian also infiltrates the college by posing as a dormitory supervisor – which directly explains the outfit reproduced on this Luminasta figurine.

Thanks to his supernatural abilities, his intelligence and his perfect mastery of the role of butler, Sebastian is one of Ciel’s greatest assets in his investigations in the service of Queen Victoria. Their relationship, however, is based on a pact driven by very different motivations: Ciel seeks the truth and revenge, whilst Sebastian waits patiently for the fulfilment of the contract that will enable him to obtain the reward he covets.
