BAKI - Baki Hanma - Figure Vibration stars 18cm

This Banpresto figurine depicts Baki Hanma, the protagonist of the Baki saga, as part of the Vibration Stars collection. Standing approximately 18 cm tall, it depicts the young underground arena champion in a particularly dynamic fighting pose, designed to convey the physical power and tension characteristic of his bouts.

Baki is depicted bare-chested, allowing his extremely well-developed musculature to be fully showcased. His shoulders, arms, pectorals and abdominals are highly sculpted, whilst the numerous scars visible on his body serve as a reminder of the countless fights he has survived.

The pose embodies the true spirit of a fighter: his legs are spread apart and bent to lower his centre of gravity, whilst his arms are positioned in front of his body, ready to react to an attack. His focused expression, tousled brown hair and the highly defined physique capture the intensity of the battles in the series. The Vibration Stars range thus prioritises a dynamic pose rather than a simple static one.

Character background and lore

Baki Hanma is the protagonist of Keisuke Itagaki’s work and the young champion of Tokyo’s underground arena. The anime’s official website describes him as an 18-year-old fighter who has already survived countless life-or-death battles. His main goal is to become powerful enough to surpass his father, Yujiro Hanma, nicknamed ‘the strongest creature on Earth’.

His journey pits him against fighters from an extremely wide range of disciplines: karate, boxing, kung fu, wrestling, military techniques and traditional martial arts. However, Baki does not rely on any single school of combat. His main strength lies in his ability to analyse his opponents quickly, adapt his techniques and exploit the almost superhuman capabilities of his own body.

After facing the most dangerous death-row inmates, various Kaiohs and even the prehistoric man Pickle, Baki continues his journey towards the fight he has always longed for against Yujiro. The official Baki-Dou profile notes that he eventually faces his father in the series’ greatest father-son feud, and that Yujiro ultimately recognises his son’s right to claim the title of the strongest.

This Vibration Stars figurine focuses precisely on this fundamental aspect of the character: an extremely young fighter yet already covered in scars, whose entire body has been shaped by training and a succession of battles designed to bring him ever closer to his father’s level.
