Origin and character’s universe
In the universe of the animated television series *Beetlejuice*, co-developed by Tim Burton, Beetlejuice is a spectral bio-exorcist residing in the heart of the ‘Neitherworld’ (the Afterlife). Unlike his more sinister counterpart from the 1988 feature film, this animated version is portrayed as a mischievous prankster – eccentric but fundamentally friendly – whose best friend is the young mortal Lydia Deetz. Capable of altering space and his own physical form at the whim of his puns, he spends his time hatching absurd financial schemes, fleeing sandworms and introducing his human neighbour to the zany and macabre world of the undead.
This Funko Pop! figure recreates the clothing and physical features of this specific graphic interpretation. Beetlejuice is depicted sporting his tousled neon-green hair and his pallid complexion, tinged with mauve around his black eyes. The character is dressed in his iconic suit, consisting of a jacket and trousers with black and white vertical stripes, worn over a light-coloured shirt and a dark tie. The figurine strikes a stable pose, arms outstretched, illustrating the ghost’s theatrical and dynamic character within the franchise.
