Origin and character’s universe
Released in 1981 and directed by John Landis,An American Werewolf in London is an essential masterpiece blending black comedy and pure horror. The story follows two American students, David Kessler and Jack Goodman, on an exploratory trip through the English countryside. Despite warnings from locals, they stray into the desolate moors at night and are viciously attacked by a monstrous canine creature. While Jack loses his life, David survives his injuries but finds himself infected by the beast’s blood. Haunted by the ghostly apparitions of his deceased friend, who begs him to end his life before the next full moon, David watches helplessly as he undergoes a painful transformation. His transformation into a bloodthirsty, four-legged beast will terrorise the British capital, leaving an indelible mark on cinema history thanks to its revolutionary, Oscar-winning special effects.
