Origin and background of the character
Dwayne Johnson, known worldwide by the pseudonym ‘The Rock’, is one of the most charismatic, electrifying and influential figures in the history of professional wrestling and pop culture. Descended from a legendary line of Samoan wrestlers, he burst onto the scene in the late 1990s during the WWF/WWE’s Attitude Era. He won over the crowds with his unforgettable mannerisms, such as his famous eyebrow raise (The People’s Eyebrow), and his devastating one-liners on the mic. A multiple-time world champion, Royal Rumble winner and headliner at numerous WrestleMania events, he left a lasting impression with his historic rivalries against Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena. Having gone on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars, “The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment” makes spectacular returns to the ring, reminding every generation who the real boss of the ring is.
