Character background and lore
Released in cinemas in 2008 by Pixar Studios, Wall-E is a science fiction masterpiece that won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. The story is set in the year 2805 on a deserted Earth, transformed into a giant rubbish tip and abandoned by humans who have gone to live aboard the luxurious spaceship Axiom. The story follows Wall-E, a small, solitary rubbish-compacting robot who courageously carries on with his daily clean-up mission.
His routine is turned upside down by the arrivalof Eve (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator), a high-tech exploration probe sent to Earth to search for signs of plant life. Initially cold, rigid and heavily armed, Eve eventually befriends Wall-E, who presents her with a small potted green plant. This figurine captures the magical moment later in the film when Eve flies freely through the void of space and shares a magnificent choreographed ‘dance’ with Wall-E around the Axiom, using a fire extinguisher. A must-have piece, full of tenderness, for all animation enthusiasts.
