This Hasbro Transformers Studio Series Leader Class figure depicts Megatron as he appears in the film *Transformers: The Last Knight*. Standing approximately 18 cm tall in robot mode, it features the Decepticon leader’s heavily armoured, angular design whilst offering a full transformation into jet mode. Hasbro describes the transformation as a 24-step process.

The design captures the particularly aggressive aesthetic adopted by Megatron in the fifth film of the series. His metallic grey armour consists of numerous plates with sharp, irregular shapes, giving the character a silhouette reminiscent of a Cybertronian knight. The head retains its menacing face and the sharp contours characteristic of this incarnation, whilst the various parts of the vehicle mode are integrated into the robot’s structure.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Megatron is the long-standing leader of the Decepticons and one of Optimus Prime’s main adversaries in the Transformers universe. Driven by a desire for domination and his ambition to restore Cybertron according to his own vision, he leads the Decepticons in their war against the Autobots and does not hesitate to form temporary alliances when these serve his objectives. Hasbro specifically describes this incarnation as a particularly calculating Megatron, prepared to negotiate, betray or destroy everything in his path to achieve his ends.

In *Transformers: The Last Knight*, Megatron returns with a new look that is radically different from that of his previous cinematic incarnations. His body features a design much closer to that of medieval armour, with overlapping metal plates, sharp edges and a silhouette reminiscent of a knight. This aesthetic echoes the film’s overarching theme, which blends the story of the Transformers with Arthurian legends.

Megatron still leads the Decepticons and continues his battle against the Autobots. In particular, he seeks to get his hands on Merlin’s staff, a powerful Cybertronian artefact at the heart of the film’s events. His journey also eventually brings him into contact with Quintessa, whose plans directly affect the fate of Cybertron and Earth.

This version of the character is also distinguished by his alternate mode: instead of a land vehicle, Megatron transforms into an imposing Cybertronian jet. The Studio Series figure faithfully recreates this feature, allowing it to transform from the armoured robot into jet mode in 24 steps. His sword, shield and sharply angular armour complete a design strongly influenced by the warlike aesthetic of *Transformers: The Last Knight*.
