Origin and lore

The Triforce is one of the fundamental symbols of The Legend of Zelda. According to Hyrule’s mythology, the kingdom was created by three goddesses: Din, goddess of strength; Nayru, goddess of wisdom; and Farore, goddess of courage. Before leaving the world, they left behind the Triforce, a sacred artefact consisting of three golden triangles capable of granting a wish.

Its three fragments represent Strength, Wisdom and Courage respectively. Throughout the various eras of the saga, these powers have been notably associated with Ganondorf, Zelda and Link, making the Triforce a central element in the conflicts and legends surrounding the kingdom of Hyrule.

The Hylian Shield depicted on this keyring is also closely associated with Link. Nintendo describes it as one of the series’ most iconic pieces of equipment; its traditional design combines the Triforce and the coat of arms of Hyrule.
